Bringing a Biblical perspective to public policy
Today is the scheduled last day of the 131st Maine legislative 2nd or emergency session. The House is just starting to move and the Senate finished what they could and are going on break to wait for the House.
The Governor has alerted them that she will not extend the session. The Senate moved to extend and the House disagreed. Could all be politics or maybe they will end at midnight and whatever they did not get to, will die (cannot carry over business from the second session to a new legislature).

CA moved to have a $20 per hour min wage for fast food (exemptions for the Governors friends apparently). Raising min wage is a job killer, in one week see this: Headline: Mod Pizza closes 5 California locations as $20-an-hour minimum wage law takes effect.
Ironically, after Maine Democrats voted to give Maine citizen's votes away to CA and NY, Nebraska is looking to give all their votes to 1 party and not split them.

Maine Legislature is closed today and tomorrow, and was planned off on Monday. Today all is cancelled but they are leaving committee open tomorrow. The Red Flag bill is tomorrow. Huh. I am wondering if I will have power by next week. Shame on the Legislative Leadership to do this
